First-time Installation and Use

Reviewed By James L (Vancouver, WA) Reviewed for a 1981 Ford F-150 —6/5/2010 4:24 PM

My first truck tonneau. Installation was fairly straightforward, & video was helpful, though one step was out of order in the written instructions & the failure to identify the equipment pieces meant it took a bit of extra time to determine what part as being referred too. The end installation looks very good and seems to work as advertise, thought I've only had it a week. If it holds up well for the first year or two, and the mechanical parts continue to work properly, I'll definately increase its Price/Value and Quality rating. I'm definately preferring it to the old bed canopy it's replacing, even though we get lots of rain in the northwest. The tonneau gives the driver much better visibility to the rear, and improves the looks of even my old pick-up.

Alabama Favorite

This is my second RETRAX cover only because the person who bought my old truck loved the cover as well. They are well built, roll very easy, and installation is very easy with a helper. Best one I have ever owed.

Good Looking Cover, Easy to Install

Reviewed By Michael N (NAPLES, FL) Reviewed for a 2016 Ford F-150 —9/22/2016 5:25 AM

So far am quite pleased. Since fits over the top (not inside) there is no rail to install. I have a drop in bedliner and was concerned I would have to carve out some of the bedliner to get the rail(s) seated which are necessary with some of the other popular brand folding covers. After installation I got inside and noticed light coming in on all for corners and fixed that with some weather peel off door sealing. I haven't rain tested it yet but don't mind if it is not 100% dry.
