I have previously owned several types of hard tonneau covers including several solid fiberglass lids and a retractable type. The Bak-flip is my first folding tonneau. I received my Bak flip cover much faster than I expected. It took only eight working days to arrive. It was packaged properly and arrived with no damage. My wife remarked about how light the large box was. The installation was not difficult and relatively simple for anyone of moderate mechanical inclination. However a person of little mechanical experience would have a problem understanding the included instructions. In my opinion the instructions could be much clearer and should be more detailed and re-written at a level that would apply to people with less mechanical experience. Also I think the manufacturer should provide stainless steel bolts for use in attaching the tonneau to the rails. Post installation observations: 1. The cover is very attractive and the texture and color match the plastic bed cap rails on my 2007 Titan. It looks like an OEM factory product. 2. The cover for my titan has three panels. This provides a nice balance look. 3. I have not had a problem with the latches as I have read in other reviews. Mine latch firmly and easily. 4. With the tailgate locked, there is no way to open the tonneau cover as it has no external latch. You must drop the tailgate first. Although this can be a drawback at times, it does provide a clean look and great security. 5. Although it has rained already I have not seen any water leakage to date; but the lid has been on the truck for only two weeks. 6. I replaced the two attachment bolts at the front of the top with stainless steel bolts immediately. To summarize, the Bak-Flip tonneau is better looking than a retractable lid, provides secure storage, opens all the way, does not have a canister that takes up bed space, provides good weather protection and is about half the price of a retractable or fiberglass lid. It is very easy to open as the sections are light and strong.

It is easy to install, installed it by myself (in a 2008 F250) in under 1 hr. It fits snugly, feels pretty solid, and everything in the bed is secure and locked in. I chose this cover over a rollup or hard cover because when it's open it folds up against the rear cab window and doesn't take up any room at all in the bed (all of the rollups I considered had a 1 foot by 1 foot box in the front of the bed). The only negative thing I can say is that the rubber seal along the edges doesn't sit flush because the cover was shipped folded and it took a set folded. To be fair there isn't any other way they could ship it. The creases in the seal may make the cover less than waterproof (although the bed seemed dry after it rained); I'm hoping it will smooth out when it's been installed for a few weeks. Highly recommend this cover.

Hi Eppisser, yes the BAKFlip G2 fits your 2011 Dakota, both the short and standard bed models. And, the installation demonstration we show for the Toyotas is similar for all trucks.

Is there a key lock equipped with this product that locks the it down when Tailgate is fastened?

Hi PV, there is no key lock; however, the latch can only be accessed from your truck bed. So, if your tailgate is locked, the tonneau is essentially locked.
