I had a Extang BlackMax Tonneau Cover on my 2001 Nissan Frontier for 10 years and it held up great. So, when I purchased my 2012 Frontier of course I wanted a new Extang BlackMax Tonneau Cover. The Quality and Price can't be beat. The cover keeps everything in my truck bed dry and I carry softball and baseball equipment year round for my children. AutoAnything has the best price around and the shipping was amazingly fast. Thanks for providing me with great service for a great product.

Easy install, took about 45 minutes with unpacking, looks nice! The fit is snug, as it should be, so take your time stretching and snapping. I can see how it might be difficult if it were cold outside, but I'm in Florida.

I bought this cover for a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 HD. It fit well and was very easy to install, no drilling or anything. The only thing I would change...maybe add a couple brackets at the front of the bed just to hold it more securely but it works just find without it. I had great customer service when I needed help exchanging my product. Great fast customer service. I will definetly buy from here again.

Seemed lightly scratched on delivery. I feel the universal kit needed finessed a little. Doesn't specify if side rails are right / left or don't matter. I did end up switching sides seemed to fit better. Good features for hot / cold applications. For the product +price point I am happy with the purchase.

Great quality product. Rails are easy to install. Cover can be tough to install/stretch out if the temperature is cool to cold. Like the adjustable/spring-loaded cross members. Overall, very good value for the price.

Yes, that can easily be installed at home. It uses basic clamps that go to the rails of the truck. Thank you for your question.

Does the extang blackmax come with a seal to make it waterproof?
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 29, 2012 4:04 PM
Hello. Yes is there a seal that goes between the truck and the tonneau frame, which is yet another step in helping ensure as watertight a seal as possible. The tailgate seal simply installs between the truck bed and tailgate gap left when the tailgate is up. Also, all other necessary seals come with the tonneau cover. Thank you for your question.

I have 2006 Toyota Tacoma with the factory bed liner and was wondering if any modification would be needed to fit? Also looking at the BlackMax vs the Extang Classic Platinum and wondering the difference in features?

I purchased one of your covers Black Max for my 05 GMC 2500. I loved the cover, use it often. I take it on and off frequently during my work week. My problem however is the rear seam ripped while trying to stretch it out during a cool morning. How do I purchase just the cover, all the hardware is fine?
Answered by Rob F. — Oct 21, 2010 11:53 PM
Hey Ed, Extang has a great warranty policy on that Black Max tarp - 10 years. Give us a call at 800-874-8888 and we'll do our best to sort it out for you. Thanks, Rob
