Tonneau Covers - Undercover™ Undercover™ Tonneau Cover is specially package with extra duty corrugation. All four sides are wrapped with banding tape in order to hold the inter-packaging in tact. We would recommend that you inspect the outer carton for obvious shipping damage. If you are uncertain that the product has arrived without internal damage, you should refuse the order when it is delivered. If you feel the outer carton is just slightly damaged, make note of this on the freight bill. You should then confirm that the part shipped is the part you ordered. Do not open the box until you have confirmed this. If you open the box and then discover that it is not the right product you ordered, you could be responsible for the freight cost back to the warehouse. Once you have confirmed this is the right product, you should open the box as soon as possible to confirm that there is no concealed damage. If there is, report it to us immediately.

  Up
22.  How hard is it to get the props (struts) off the side rails?
Tonneau Covers - Undercover™ As you can see in the picture, there is a small C shaped ring. This ring is released by using a small head screw driver to just slightly lift it away from the prop. DO NOT COMPLETELY REMOVE IT. It is designed to just slide forward about 1/4 inch. Then push the prop out away from the truck, remove the screw driver and allow the ring to pop back into place. You do not have to remove the top ring, there is a clamp on the side of the cover that will hold the prop in place while you move the cover.

This can cause serious damage and is not part of our warranty. Once you place the stainless steel ring on the bracket it should not be pinched against the truck cab. It is alright if it taps it, but not pressed against it. Be sure and consult your installation guide carefully for proper alignment.

Tonneau Covers - Undercover™ As shown in the picture, the cylinder end should be up and attached to the cover. This allows for the fluids to work properly. Also, you will be able to attach the prop(strut) to the clip whenever you want to remove your cover.

Other components of the Pace Edwards Tonneau Cover are made of aluminum or other non-corroding materials.

7.  Will Pace Edwards Tonneau Covers keep my truck bed dry?
The Pace Edwards Tonneau Covers are designed so that water collected from the cover is carried off via "drainpipes" in the bolted-on side rails, through the canister, and then drained outside the truck bed. The cover itself is a one piece unit and water cannot leak through the fabric covering. Please note that water may intrude into the truck bed via components that are not part of the Pace Edwards Tonneau Covers such as the tailgate, stake pockets, etc.
  Up
8.  Where does the water drain to?
The drain tubes that connect to the canister are designed to channel the water they collect through the factory-provided drain holes in your truck bed. If your truck does not have factory drain holes, you will have to drill an opening in your truck bed to accommodate the drain tubes.
  Up
9.  How difficult is to install Pace Edwards Tonneau Covers?

2.  How can I improve the seal of my tonneau cover?
Although no tonneau cover is completely waterproof, the TruXedo® Tonneau Cover will help to keep rain, snow, and dust out of the bed of your truck. Since different types of bed liners and bed rails may affect how the tonneau cover fits at the front of the bed, each kit includes two small pieces of weather seal. This weather seal can then be fitted into the front corners of the truck bed, further helping to keep elements out of the bed.

4.  How do I adjust the tension on my tonneau cover?
The TruXedo® Tonneau Cover has automatic tension control. There are two spring loaded steel plungers at the front of the bed that maintain constant tension on the front header, allowing the tonneau cover to stay tight in any weather. Initially, you need to set the tension. This should be done during the warmest part of the day by closing the tonneau cover, releasing the Velcro™ fasteners from both sides near the cab, and checking compression of the spring plungers against the front header. Roll cover open to make adjustments. Repeat until satisfactory tension is achieved.
