Haul your trailer safely when you invest in high-quality trailer hitches and towing accessories from top brands, like CURT or Hidden Hitch.

There’s a right way and a wrong way to do just about everything. If you’re thinking about mounting your own trailer hitch, here’s where to start.
The open road equals freedom. Freedom to wander. Freedom to roam. Freedom to schlep your family from one roadside attraction to another on a two-week car-cation. But, nothing spoils a meandering road trip like cramped quarters. Trailer hitches are a miracle cure for your elbow room blues. You can easily mount a cargo box or basket in your receiver hitch and pile your luggage there instead of the back seats with your boys. Better than a roof box, a cargo carrier fitted into your trailer hitch receiver is easier to load, easier to unload and easier on your aerodynamics.
What else can you do with a car hitch besides carry cargo? The options are almost endless, but we'll give you a brief overview. First, auto hitches are an ideal spot for flashing your sense of style with a trailer hitch cover. They come in a wide range of designs, from hibiscus flowers to officially licensed logos. Next, you can connect a hitch-mounted bike rack and tote your two-wheelers all around town. Why, you can even turn your receiver into a ladder with a sturdy hitch step. You name it, and your hitch can do it.
Now, there are a lot of companies out there who'd like nothing more than to swindle people out of their hard-earned cash by overcharging to install their hitch receivers. What they don't want you to know is that mounting a hitch is a pretty simple and straightforward task. Most vehicles come with holes already drilled in their frame, so you simply have to bolt it into place. A Honda Pilot trailer hitch, for example, needs just a socket wrench and a half hour of free time to install. The same is true for a Toyota Sienna trailer hitch. If you can turn a wrench, you can mount a hitch.
Trailer Hitches Reviews
Check out this recent CURT Receiver Hitches customer review: Michael M from Warren, RI says "This was a gift for my wife who's new vehicle did not come with a hitch. The cost to add the OEM unit was way too high and required the dealership price for installation labor. So we went with this CURT hitch that we could install ourselves. It was an excellent choice. Be aware that this takes a bit of work to get in place because of weight and is so much easier to install with a partner. This was a great investment and our Bike Rack easily attaches to the back. It is mounted below the spare and ground clearance is not reduced. I think it looks nicer than the OEM units which require a complete change of the bumper and bumper cover on a Toyota Highlander. This is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a sturdy hitch."
