Tow Ready T-One Connector Customer Reviews

Saddling up your trailer to your hitch is only half the battle. Before you head off with your haul, the trailer needs power to run the brake lights and turn signals. Easily tie your trailer into your vehicle's electrical system with a Tow Ready T-One Connector.
Forget about splicing, cutting or soldering wires together. Your Tow Ready T-One Connector is completely custom-made for your car, truck or SUV. It hooks right into your factory electrical harness, making a solid connection without any complicated rewiring. For most vehicles, about 10-20 minutes is all it takes to plug in.
Tow Ready built your T-One Connector to high standards to ensure dependability under any condition. From torrential rains to snow flurries, nothing breaks through its 1-piece weatherproof body. And, the premium 16-gauge bonded wire and 4-way flat plug are tough enough to withstand years of duty. Even better, Tow Ready covers your T-One Connector with a 1-year warranty.

The instructions were helpful. However the time to loosen and reinstall the upholstery took much more time than that predicted in the instructions. The Touring model has more fasteners than noted. The Connector works fine, and the installation is very neat. The length of the wire to the flat plug could be longer. I will use an extender to accommodate the extra length that I need to reach the trailer connector.

Check the Tow Ready connector wiring before installing! After removing all the interior panels/rear seat backs and installing the Wiring and Module, I tested it. No lights functioned! After inspecting the Tow Ready connectors that connect to the wiring harness at each tail light assembly, I noted the factory had signal wires connected to unused pins. The module would never get a signal of light activity. I disconnected the T-Cables and each Tail Light assembly, cut the useless Tow Ready module out, and tossed it in the trash bin. Plan A had failed so time for Plan B. I wired everything with Diodes to prevent crossover between lights (turn signals, Brake, lights-on). Current will be low since I use LEDs in my tail light assemblies and the trailer. I was out nearly $70.00 but since this was supposed to replace another brand of Tow Module that failed after 2 years, I had to make my trailer lights work. I decided electronic Tow modules are not for this vehicle. I was afraid a replacement would have also been wired incorrectly and I did not want to waste more time in a few weeks in disassembly/reassembly of my vehicle interior.

It took us over an hour to install it, when it says it should take 20-30 minutes. The instructions were bad. I had to search the internet to find instructions specific to my vehicle. I finally found it on YouTube, without it, I would have been lost! How this thing is worth $140 is beyond me. It is just a bunch of wires! Also, I had to buy an adapter to be able to use it with a U-Haul trailer.

The T-connector is extremely easy to install as you only have to disconnect the harness under the truck, connect the unit to one side and the other end of the harness to the other side. You shouldn't need any tools for this. If you have any issues with the product or installation, our customer service department will be happy to help you.flag Accept Answer

I just bought a T Connect wire harness. It comes with a power wire that has to be attached to the battery. What is that for? do I really need to connect it?
