Choose the trouble-free folding gooseneck hitch for spring loaded convenience that folds out of the way when you need your flat truck bed space. The easy-to-use design allows you to fold the ball out of the way in two simple steps that don't require any tools. Plus, its stainless steel spring loaded safety pin keeps the ball securely in place, even when you venture onto unstable terrain.
The more traditional CURT fixed ball gooseneck hitch includes all the towing power and features of the folding ball design without the folding option. Both are backed by CURT's 7-year warranty.

This a wonderful set up. The over all design is great. It is worth it's weight in gold.

I would love to rate the mounting kit but as yet I haven't been able to even get my hands on it other than the pieces that fell out of the box on the UPS truck floor. The packaging was dismal and blew out, scattering parts from the shipping point to when they tried to deliver it and I refused the delivery because half of it was missing. The customer service guy talks a good line but they are dragging their feet on getting out the replacement from Curt. The package was returned directly by UPS and not by me. I guess they want to make sure I didn't take any parts. From what I saw the parts looked good, but the packaging "engineer" should be looking for a job. The picture associated with this review that I see is the gooseneck plate and not the mounting kit. The plate arrived a little beat up but very usable.

The ball and hitch kit is excellent. However the rail kit is not as great. It does the job but I like a kit that has non slotted holes in the side plates for the rail connections. To much play in the slotted holes until the hitch plate is connected. Other than that small glitch it is a good system. I installed on an 08 F350.
