I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Extended Cab Pickup truck with a short bed, if I go with the 16k 5th Wheel hitch would it mess up my truck instead of the roller hitch?

It could. your turning radius will be diminished. A friend of mine has the cab scar to prove it. I would recommend a roller hitch for a short box.
