"I ordered the shortest adapter for use with a new Curt receiver hitch that I installed by myself on my 2005 Honda CR-V. The receiver hitch installation took around 30 minutes and was very easy since I had a pair of jack stands to support the hitch during mounting. The adapter was needed for my bike rack. I used the Curt anti-rattle kit with the adapter and I now have a solid mount that projects far enough to clear the spare tire that is mounted on the rear door. I recently drove 6 hours with 2 bikes on the rack. Speed bumps required some slow careful driving, but the hitch and adapter held up fine even when the there was quite a bit of up and down movement of the entire bike rack."

"I have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler, the spare tire is mounted on the rear door. The Curt Hitch Adapter extended the hitch receiver making it possible to use out transporter. Without it, the transporter could not be used. If you have a need to extend your hitch receiver, Curt makes a heavy-duty product."

"Allowed me to use my 1 1/4" equiped bike rack on my 2" receiver equiped truck. Pretty snug fit. Rack does wiggle a bit, but to be expected. Plenty strong and snug for towing smaller trailers."
