I recently hooked up the boat that had set for 4 years to find the lights not working properly. The lights would work right somewhere on the trailer and then somewhere totaly different the next time I tried the lights. Turn signal would work until you tried them the second time and the brake lights would work the same way. I tried everything from replacing lights, wires, ground and nothing would make them work properly. I hooked up the Valley Powered Tail Light Converter and all my problems went away the first time I tried the lights. I own a 2002 Jeep Liberty and had to install the Converter in the cargo area instead of the tail light housing as the Converter was to big to fit in tail light area, other then that all worked great. Thank You Auto Anything and Valley converters I was STUMPPED till I tried your product, I guess I needed a little more power to get signal to the lights.

VW's lights are ground switched and this allows trailer lights to work. It installed easily and works correctly. I had to hardwire the running lights on to give the unit enough power to stop the thing from buzzing but it works.

15 amp model installed in motorhome

My motorhome came with an OEM circuit board for isolating the trailer wiring from the motorhome wiring. When that board failed, and the manufacturer was in bankruptcy, I needed to do one of three things: 1. wire the trailer plug directly from the motorhome putting the coach circuits at risk 2. create my own isolation scheme or 3. try the Valley powere tail light converter I opted for number three. The installation was simple and straight forward. The results were as expected. The tow plug is used for a towed vehicle. The lights are clear and bright on the towed car. I use two sets of lights and they are both highly visible in bright sunlight. Note: Be sure and use an inline fuse at 15 amps for the power input.

This is my ANSWER ! !

I tow a car(toad) behind a motorhome and my previous one did not require a converter per se, because both vehicles had seperate turn signals so it was a straight pass-thru, circuitwise. However, I was never pleased with the brilliance of any of the lites on the toad including the tail lites. My new toad required a converter, but I still installed a non-powered one. NO GOOD!! Could hardly see ANY illumination in the daytime. Enough, already!! I give in!! Time for a powered converter. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! The lites on the toad now are just as bright when towed as running solo. This unit is well-made and clearly labeled, easy to install and answered my problem.

Valley Powered Tail Light Converter was easy to install on my 1998 Jetta TDI and has performed as advertised. The converter eliminated the fear of screwing up the car's wiring and electronics. Plus, I saved money and knew that the installation was done right.

Easy to install (assuming basic wiring skills). Works great! This unit allows me to run more lights and more lights are safer. I have never been a fan of wire splicing connectors. I chose to solder the connections and shrink wrap them--so there was a little more time involved in my particular installation.
