Most Excellent

Posted on 12/10/2008 by Kenneth D J. (Camdenton,MO)

0 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"I am most pleased with Curt's class II receiver hitch regarding quality and fit. The only mod need for a perfect fit was a longer "side" bolt for one side to allow for both washer without bending the attachment points. Once in place, the hitch looked like it was "factory" installed."

Utilized existing truck connections points well

Posted on 12/08/2008 by Howard S. - 2006 Toyota Tacoma (Barnum,MN)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"I've seen easier hitches to install because on the 2006 Tacoma you almost need to remove the bumper. It would have been about an hour to install with some help to align the bumper when repositioning. The hitch connected to six existing connection points on the truck and is very strong and solid. I am confident the hitch is as tough as it claims to be, and that is a 5000 lb hitch (on a 3500 lb truck). Final location of the reciever in respect to the truck and also appearance was very satisfactory."

Astro Hitch

Posted on 12/08/2008 by Monte P. - 2000 Chevy Astro (Chandler,AZ)

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.

"I was pleased with the hitch. It came in just a day, shipped from a local warehouse to my house in Phoenix. I dreaded the thought of trying to install it, but it went flawlessly. Though I'm no mechanic, I had it installed in 45 minutes by just following the instructions. I needed no special tools (except a torque wrench to make sure I had tightened the bolts properly), and it was a bolt-on fit to my 2000 Astro van. Plenty of room for the reduced size spare tire. Tucks neatly away behind the bumper with just the receiver tube hanging below."

Better than the dealer hitch

Posted on 12/02/2008 by Jack T. - 2007 Nissan XTerra (Tulsa,OK)

"Received the hitch within four work days of the order. After a few cockpit errors on my part it was installed in 45 minutes ... ok I'm slow so sue me. Also purchased an adapter to use an existing bicycle carrier with an 1 1/2 tongue. The adapter moves the carrier away from the Xterra body and that prevents any oops from loading a couple of bicycles on the carrier."

Great for Dodge Caravan Stow-N-Go seating

Posted on 11/20/2008 by Donna M. - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan (Cottonwood,AZ)

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful.

"I just got it installed and now looking for a small cargo trailer to accommodate x-pens, pop-up tents, tables, chairs and other items needed for my greyhound rescue group. By keeping all the "heavy items" in the trailer this leaves the van's main body open for my greyhounds. My mechanic said the hitch was "very easy" to install and "everything went together real easy"!"

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful.

"The quality of the hitch is excellent and it installed in about 15 minutes. A little anti-seize compound on the four bolts and it mounted perfectly to the holes provides in the frame channels on the car. Now if I could only find a "T" connector for the wiring, I'll be all set. Mike S."

Review of Curt Reciever Hitch

Posted on 11/13/2008 by Thom K. - 1996 Chevy S10 Pickup (Johnson City,TN)

"The service of AutoAnything was excellent. My order was processed quickly and with no screw ups. The hitch was the correct hitch but the holes were about and 1/8inch off. This led to having to ream out the holes and then attach the bolts. This was a two person job and would not recommend to someone with little automotive experience. The only other difficulty was that the S-10 had a grounding screw on the frame that had to be ground down before attaching the hitch. Overall the hitch is good and fits well on the S-10."

Good Quality, Poor shipping

Posted on 11/12/2008 by Bethany Z. (Bowling Green,OH)

0 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"The hitch is great quality for the money, but Curt shipped the hitch in a big box with no packing? One end of it was broken through the box and I didnt notice until I tried to install but one of the arms got bent and it took me an hour and a half to install because I had to bend it back to line up the bolts. If they would pack their boxes better this would have been a simple job."
