A PIECE OF ART!!

Posted on 09/16/2009 by James M. (Tequesta,FL)

"Ordered on Monday afternoon, arrived Wednesday before noon!! The gleaming black powdercoated beauty grabs you immediately as an art product to be admired for the fine detail, craftsmanship and overall beafy ruggedness. OK, it actually took me an hour to install, but that included a coat of synthetic wax and non-corrosive grease on all bolt threads. It fit like OJ's glove - a small bottle jack helped guide the last 1/4 inch on once side where the factory got a little generous with their "liquid applied insulation". Everyone that sees this hitch admires the robotic welded, totally enclosed framing, etc.... I sent the ugly Thule factory hitch back, then had to take to my dealer to have the hitch wiring "turned on" by factory Service Tech computer guys. ALL were impressed and would recommend to their customers. This rates a 10 for every area I could imagine. No one EXCEEDS my expectations - but CURT certainly fulfilled every objective criteria I could think of!! 10 ATTABOYS!"

2008 Ford Focus SE 4 dr installation!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted on 09/16/2009 by Robert F. A. - 2008 Ford Focus (L.E.H.T.,NJ)

"I owe my friend for turning me on to Autoanything.com. The price was better than those other guys. $149 is always better than $165. The package was sitting on my door step just 2 working days after placing the order. Everything was there, 3 piece hitch, nuts and bolts, plus that nifty spring fish wire. Put the car up on low style ramps. My buddy and I did exactly as the directions stated with one change that really saved some time for us. We didn't unhook the exhaust----there was enough room above the muffler to use a moto-dremel tool to cut a sq. piece out of the heat shield instead of lowering and drilling a hole and reattaching exhaust. 40 minutes on the button. Looks great and I'm using a cargo carrier on it to carry beach cart and fishing stuff to North Carolina. Thanks Auto anything, Bob"

Curt Receiver Hitch for Toyota Highlander

Posted on 09/16/2009 by Bruce S. - 2006 Toyota Highlander (Fayston,VT)

"The receiver installation was a piece of cake. 6 bolts, no welding. Make sure the muffler is cool as you need to work close to it and will probably touch it accidentally. Recommend you purchase the four-wire flat tail light cable along with the harness. This was also very simple, no splicing or soldering. My biggest concern with these components is rust, so time will tell, but the paint job looks solid."

"Hitch was received in only a couple of days after ordering and in good condition. Instructions were a little vague and holes did not align. Had to increase the length of the slots in the frame in order to even get the bolts in. Once bolts were in, everything tightened up and looked good."

Curt hitch for 2001 Honda

Posted on 09/13/2009 by Mark J B. - 2001 Honda Civic (Stanwood,WA)

"Glad I ordered the no drill Curt hitch for my Honda instead of a cheaper one. The drill type would have required removing the exhaust and would have taken a lot more time. The Curt hitch mounted easily. The paint job was nice."

Great Product

Posted on 09/11/2009 by Bill B. - 2009 Dodge Journey (Fond Du Lac,WI)

"The hitch was easy to install and fit perfectly. The only thing that I would like added is a place to mount the wiring harness. I had the dealer install a factory harness. Little did I know it was going to be a round 7 pin. Next time I will ask more question at the dealer before having it installed. Other wise it is a great product."

Curt Hitch for Chrysler Town and Country

Posted on 09/10/2009 by Jonathan S. - 2009 Chrysler Town and Country (Pittsburgh,PA)

"I picked the Curt hitch because it was longer than the others I looked at. Many ended 3 inches shorter than the bumber which did hide them, but would not have allowed me to put on our bike rack without an extension. This was very high quality and shipped very quickly."

Good hitch, bad execution...

Posted on 09/08/2009 by Todd B. - 2004 Mazda MPV (Savannah,GA)

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.

"I have no complaints with the hitch itself, however, it is impossible to mount 4 of the 6 bolts to my vehicle. The instructions sent with the hitch are for my particular vehicle, however it is IMPOSSIBLE to feed large carriage bolts through a tiny access hole in the frame of the vehicle- the bolts are longer than the frame is tall! I had to order special expansion bolts that are made for these type applications. $100 for the bolts since I had to buy a minimum of 7. Needless to say, I'll be having a talk with Curt about this. If they supplied the proper hardware, I would have no complaints whatsoever. Super quick shipping and decent packaging."

Slick!

Posted on 09/05/2009 by John C. - 2000 Honda CR-V (Orem,UT)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"I was amazed at how perfectly the hitch was customized to fit my vehicle (2000 Honda CRV). The entire job took me about 90 minutes. More than half of that time I spent fishing the carriage bolts and spacers through the holes of my car's frame--I could have used 4 wires (supplied with the hitch's hardware) instead of just one, because the first bolt took only a few seconds, but then I couldn't get the spring end of the wire off of the bolt's threads, so I had to unwind it in a way that disfigured the spring. That required me to kind of re-wind it before doing each of the other three bolts, which took the extra time and made it harder to get everything through the holes. But it was still pretty slick the way it worked. The instructions should have said to only thread the spring end of the wire onto two or three threads, max. Also, once you see the wire in the second hole, the instructions should say to grab it and pull it through carefully with needle-nose pliers, because I could not get it with just my fingers. Overall, I am very pleased."

Curt Hitch 13256 for 2004 Toyota Sienna

Posted on 09/04/2009 by Bruce C. - 2004 Toyota Sienna (Sacramento,CA)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"I chose this class-III Curt hitch over other brands after extensive web surfing, looking at hitches on Sienna's in parking lots (work, stores, malls) and 3 U-Haul/Hitch-World stops. The quality of the hitch is excellent, and the curved cross tube design is, imho, far more visually appealing than the straight tube designs of others. The hitch arrived in excellent condition (it was boxed). Scratched/damaged deliveries of other brands (not necessarily from autoanything.com) is mentioned on the web... apparently they are shipped either 'bare' or perhaps bubble wrapped. I've even seen other web order sites specifically say returns are not accepted for scratched deliveries. An interesting sales approach... pay ~$200 and take your chances. Would you accept this logic from your local furniture store? I installed the hitch myself, and it was very straight forward (I have the tools... e.g., torque wrench). I did have to do some slight (1/2") spreading of the mounting flanges (as mentioned in other web sites), but this was not too difficult. The install instructions suggested removing the muffler rubber hanger, but I fond this to be unnecessary (simply gently push the muffler to the side). Total install time with the van on the garage floor (i.e., not lifted)... ~1-1/2hr (I test fitted twice). The fit and finish was outstanding... Curt has an excellent product. Though I installed the hitch to use with a hitch mounted bicycle rack (vs. for towing), there is one thing to be aware of regardless of how you might use it. Specifically, the bottom of the hitch is relatively low (~8-1/2" from the ground). This is not a design flaw of Curt hitch, but rather a result of the very limited space under the Toyota. For general driving, I have had no issues what-so-ever. Where you'll want to be careful is speed bumps and gutter dips between the street and a driveway. Am I pleased with the Curt hitch... without question. And how about autoanything.com... I'm 100% satisfied! I called before I ordered (my first order), and"

"the receiver was very well make, great finish, easy to install. (took about 30 min.) only issue with the hitch is the exchaust end of my Dodge Caliber "taps" the hitch on right turns. i believe this is due to the Calibers exchaust design which allow a bit of movement of the exch. system. I am very happy with the hidge and have recomment the porduct and company to many friends."
