1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"Construction and finish are great. Primary fit is great, primary bolt holes line up. But secondary bolts are a problem. You can not reinstall tow hook (right side). You can only use one bolt on the outer exhaust hanger, and a body tab on each side needed to be bent out of the way. All easily designed around."

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"Easy to install and just as a note, it's not necessary to lower the exhaust to install the hitch. It makes it easier, but if you're having trouble removing the rubber isolators you can still install the hitch. I just unscrewed the 4 bolts that held the exhaust up and reinstalled them after I got the holes lined up on the hitch."

Nice hitch. Fairly easy install on 2009 Mazda 3.

Posted on 06/23/2009 by Chae H. - 2009 Mazda 3 (Bend,OR)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"When I got this hitch in the mail I noticed it was well made, but also that the ends were slighty "bent". I thought I had received a damaged product, but I think what I thought was "bent" was actually more of a "taper" to make installation easier. Just FYI. I used a cobalt drill bit and even using it took a while to get through the metal. Otherwise pretty easy install. The fishwires make getting the bolts into their proper places easy. One thing which was difficult was tightening the two side bolts on my Mazda 3 Hatchback. As other reviews have stated, there isn't much room to turn a wrench. Still trying to figure out how to get them tighter... The other 2 bolts are easy to tighten down."

VERY EASY INSTALL......... GREAT PRICE.......

Posted on 06/20/2009 by Charles D. - 2003 Dodge Van (Marcus Hook,PA)

"This hitch looks great and it is a very easy install on my 2003 dodge ram van. The van frame already has the threads installed in the frame for quick hook-up. The only promblem I had was the bolts that come with the hitch are to BIG, so I had to get the right size bolts at the local hardware store. Don't forget the wire harness, that to was easy to hook-up to the van. Total time to be tow ready 25 min."

Good Service - Easy to Install

Posted on 06/17/2009 by Chris L. - 2005 Honda Odyssey (Cheshire,CT)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"Everything about this purchase was painless. We received the items quickly and well packaged. We had bought a Curt hitch for my Odyssey last year - maybe it was because it was the first time-but it was a painful process-we were wondering if it was really worth the savings to install it ourselves. When we went to install this hitch on the Santa Fe-Maybe it was because we knew what we were doing this time and had the right tools (a newly purchased 12 inch extension for the torque wrench) but we were done in less than 15 minutes and my marriage was intact. You definitely need two people-one to hold up the very heavy hitch while the second screws in the bolts. Overall - this was a great buy!"

"When I took it for installation, the guys at U-Haul were in awe of how easy it was to install on my Prius. They had used other hitches before and said they were a nightmare. I use it for my bike carrier and I'm thrilled with it, it is very inconspicuous when not attached to anything."

Installing a curt Hitch

Posted on 06/17/2009 by David M. - 1999 Ford Taurus (Rochester,MN)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"What I think about the Curt Receiver Hitch for a 1999 Ford Taurus is it does not fit properly the beam that goes to the right side across hits the spare tire wheel well and did not match up to the right side holes. Teck support for Curt is Great and very helpful to try to solve the problem. But when you buy a bolt on hitch you think it is going to be a bolt on not a drill on and hammer on to make your car fit to the hitch. And to say after 68,000 miles on your car the frame is usally bent is hard for me to believe. The reciever that you put your ball on, you can feel the edge that was put on by pushing the drill (Sharpen your drill bits) threw the hole that holds the pin and paint was to thick to slid in and out, my wife could not put this on or off if she wanted to but with time of use and frustration I am sure it will work fine."

Curt Reciever for Explorer

Posted on 06/17/2009 by Jeffrey S. - 2000 Ford Explorer (Kennesaw,GA)

"Arrived without any issues. Installation wasn't as smooth as could be. I could only install three of the four bolts as the holes didn't line up. An alternative was to use a smaller bolt for the fourth hole. Not an exact fit. I'm only using it for a bike rack so I'm not worried about it."

Nice Hitch

Posted on 06/14/2009 by William B. - 2008 Saturn Astra (Huron,OH)

"The hitch is great. High quality. The reciever that came with it, would not work with my trailer due to the fact that when installed it turns down so it made the trailer ride to low. Also the instructions did not specify exactly what holes to mount to on the car, since there are more than the necessary holes, so I had to figure that out on my own."

0 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"Nice looking, well built hitch. Didn't quite line up right on the holes that attach to the bottom of the bumper. There is a little gap that was closed/bent during the extremely high torquing of the bolts, but is functioning well so far. I flat tow a Jeep, so there's no tongue weight, but with a 1,000 lbs./10,000 lbs. rating, the hitch exceeds the 9,300 lbs. the truck is rated for."

Great hitch, but installing really needs a lift!

Posted on 06/10/2009 by William C. - 2007 Toyota Sienna (Framingham,MA)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"The hitch was delivered in a box and undamaged (something I was worried about beforehand). Although portrayed as a DYI job, you really must have access to a lift and, preferably, air tools to install. The fit was quite tight on my 2007 Toyota Sienna - no room for error in aligning the bolt holes. But, all's well that ends well - the hitch is on, looks great and works well."
