little bit of difficulty unhooking the muffler, other than that, installation is easy. Did not remove bumper, the bolts fit in through access hole without any filing. only slight alteration was to the aluminmum heat shield above the muffler. I measured holes on opposite side from muffler, marked location on muffler side and used hole saw once i took the shield off. but you can also trim with snips. suggest using liquid soap on rubber muffler hangers to steel hanger pegs to lubricate.

I installed the hitch for a hitch-mounted bicycle rack. It works perfect for my needs. Installation wasn't too hard. I found a youtube video that shows you exactly how to do it. The only issue was removing the muffler. Solved that problem with the right tool (a deep 14mm socket) and little elbow grease.

The product was exactly as described. Quality was very high. I spent about 1 hr installing on my vehicle. It came with instruction that was very easy to follow. The price was matched with lowest price on-line with no hassle. I would highly recommend to my friends.

Hitch Review - 2015 Subaru Forester

Hitch had the right number on it but looked different than what I saw in the vendor catalog. Catalog showed a curved cross bar, the unit I received had straight bar. The unit I received is sturdy and durable in appearance. The hitch was not well boxed and the box was ripped and the bar scratched. I had to sand and repaint it before installation. That was a bit of a hassle.

Installed the Draw-Tite hitch in a 2016 Subaru Forester. I removed the back bumper cover and bumper itself so I could do a no-drill install. Looks great, but that does add some time to the installation process. You'll also need to remove the heat shield above the muffler, and then reinstall using 3 of the 4 original screws. The shield is still very secure. Hitch fits perfectly and looks great, doesn't stick out beyond the bumper so you won't hit it while walking around the back of the vehicle.

good product

I did not install myself but had my auto mechanic do it. He said he had to take the muffler off, but h liked the method for fishing the bolts through. Total cost of install $150 (did not include the harness or any electrical since this is for a bike rack).
