This is a nice hitch for my older Subaru. Shipping was fast. Removing the factory bolts & fasteners were not a problem after liberal usage of PB Blaster. Definitely required a second set of hands in holding the hitch up while attempting to fasten the 4 factory bolts on the drivers side and the 3 factory bolts on the passenger side. Word of caution: don't be surprised if a few of your bolts come out stripped or damaged if your vehicle is older like mine is.

Didn't think I'd be able to install myself, hate working on cars, but even on my ten year old car didn't take but an hour! Bike rack hasn't left hitch since! Receiver worked great had problems with Uhaul paint inside theirs in the past.

I performed the installation myself at home without having the Forester jacked up. It took me 3 hours to get the hitch installed and had trouble lining up the bolt holes on the driver's side even though I left on the fasteners loose on the passenger side. The instructions should use better words to describe the parts that are not to be installed back on the car once removed. The install went fairly easy even though I has to jack and block hitch. It looks great and I can haul my bike.
