CURT Receiver Hitches Part #11555 Customer Reviews

I watched the Curt video to learn how to install the 11555 class 1. It was very helpful BUT the diagram of the under-panel that had to have a hole cut into did not even closely resemble the actual panel. I had to estimate and then modify my cut once it was being re-attached (while under the car). I did learn what "fish wire" was.

The expected install time should be about 1.75 hours, not 30 mins. With the class 1 hitch you will have to enlarge the holes on the subframe of the CRV, I used a small pry bar. The muffler is a booger to get off. Lastly the 3 point attachment seems kinda weak. Do yourself a favor and go with a class 2-3. It mates up to the factory threaded holes on the subframe, with a 5 point connection. It should also save a little bit of time too, because you don't have to modify anything. Just my 2 cents.

I am a noobie at installing hitches with minimal tools. I was intimidated, but I plunged ahead. While I could not do the install in the time given in the instructions, I got it done. The hitch was great looking, installed as per the instructions and now that I have done one and used it, I highly recommend this hitch. You will not be disappointed by Curt hitches.

35 minute intall? It took me 15 minutes to read the instructions, an hour to just find my tools - then a day for the paint on the bolts & clips to dry - 3 days for the rain to stop - 30 minutes to get the muffler off (the instructions didn't work) - 15 minutes to enlarge the bolt holes - maybe 25 minutes to get the hitch bolted on - 5 minutes to paint any bare metal - 5 minutes to replace the muffler - and 15 minutes to clean up. But,now that its finished, I highly recommend this product. The hitch looks great, the quality is high, and it was not very expensive. And I never believe a company's installation estimate anyway.
