I really like this Curt wire harness. It is so easy to install into the existing wiring. No splicing required. Just pull out the wire fitting from the 7 way trailer plug and then plug in the new one. Drill hole in truck bed side wall. Feed wire end through hole and plug new 7 way into the end. Mount to side wall with 4 screws. All done.

More detail is needed to disassemble the factory wiring harness at the plug. Most people have no previous experience with this plug. Additionally, lowering the spare tire is necessary and not mentioned in the instructions. While obvious to me, would be nice to at least mention the requirement. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality.

Installation was very simple and end result was as good or better than I expected. The self tapping screws were a little too short for me to feel sure that it would remain secure so I used a slightly longer screw and it seems to be great. I have used the new plug and it works perfect and it is so much better not to have the wire hanging over the tailgate and worrying about it dragging on the road.

Very easy installation, all wire properly sized and protected. All hardware high quality, everything worked as promised. Now my cable doesn't have to hang over the tailgate.

The hitch is great. The instruction's could be a bit better as I have a 6 ft 8 inch bed and it's not in it but other It's great... Thanks

The original installation of this type of wiring harness was done incorrectly with consequent damage to the contacts. Therefore, the trailer wiring was not functional. Running lights but no turn signals. This harness was new in a box with all of the necessary parts to replace the defective one. I now have trailer lights.
