Installing a curt Hitch

Reviewed By David M (Rochester, MN) Reviewed for a 1999 Ford Taurus —6/17/2009 6:29 AM

What I think about the Curt Receiver Hitch for a 1999 Ford Taurus is it does not fit properly the beam that goes to the right side across hits the spare tire wheel well and did not match up to the right side holes. Teck support for Curt is Great and very helpful to try to solve the problem. But when you buy a bolt on hitch you think it is going to be a bolt on not a drill on and hammer on to make your car fit to the hitch. And to say after 68,000 miles on your car the frame is usally bent is hard for me to believe. The reciever that you put your ball on, you can feel the edge that was put on by pushing the drill (Sharpen your drill bits) threw the hole that holds the pin and paint was to thick to slid in and out, my wife could not put this on or off if she wanted to but with time of use and frustration I am sure it will work fine.

Great hitch no problems

First time I ever installed one of these. Instructions were fine , only thing I did extra was to trim the tail of the bolt that goes up in the frame. Other wise went smooth. This was a Taurus wagon
