Hidden Hitch Receiver Hitches Reviews

2011 Huyndai Accent Hatchback

Reviewed By Douglas W (EAST HANOVER, NJ) Reviewed for a 2011 Hyundai Accent —5/8/2014 2:10 PM

Installed onto my 3 year old hatchback with no problem. I took the rear bumper cover off so I had good access to the bolt holes, which needed some rust cleaned out of the threads. On a newer model, you could install it without needing to take the bumper cover off, just have someone help you by pulling the cover bottom out of the way and lifting one side of the hitch.

Good value at a fair price.

Installed on a 2011 Hyundai Accent Hatchback. Hitch instructions not great. Use Windex to lube rubber muffler hangers. Heat shield can be cut or bent to clear hitch, cutting is cleaner, but remove heat shield to cut. Hole in frame to be enlarged is to REAR of the heat shield stud, use step drill. Mounting bolt and washer plate are fished thru frame from open end where the bumper bolts on, inside bumper. Big hole back there once you find it. Had to saw/grind away a bit of the back of the hitchs'chain plate to clear tow loop on car, then hitch fit right up. Start with 1 bolt on left side first Very solid when finished. Primary use will be receiver bike rack. Accents are not rated to tow anything, so keep those trailers small. Allow 2 hours minimum.

Had to loosen bumper to get screw in hole. Instruction did not mention that. Otherwise very ealy to install.
