CURT Receiver Hitches Reviews

Easy installation - even for a novice!

Reviewed By Christopher P (Schenectady, NY) Reviewed for a 2006 Hyundai Azera —5/8/2011 2:10 PM

I installed a CURT receiver hitch and T connector on my 2006 Hyundai Azera. I have tools, but am only a novice at working on cars. Even so, installation was straightforward. The instructions were clear, but terse. The pictures were not too detailed, but helpful enough. Everything went smoothly, but took longer than the estimated time. One tool I could have used was a tap to clean out the threads on the frame where the receiver bolts on.

Azera recommendations.

Reviewed By David S (Livermore, CA) Reviewed for a 2006 Hyundai Azera —6/2/2008 8:17 PM

I recommend fully removing the heat shields instead of just letting them hang down. I also recommmend chasing the threads in the car frame nuts with a tap to clear out the paint and undercoating that gets in the threads. They were difficult to screw the bolts into.

Draw-Tite Receiver Hitches Reviews

Not fully straight

Reviewed By Robert W (MURRIETA, CA) Reviewed for a 2015 Dodge Ram —2/5/2016 9:34 PM

The dealer wanted $800 and got it for $167. Big difference. I got it for myself as a gift after 14 years with the same truck. I read a lot on all different types and still wanted the Draw Tite hitch even after reading other reviews. Now being mechanically enclined, I took the gamble. Now with a higher the average truck, I used a floor jack and 4x4 to lift it in place. Got all but 1 bolt started. When I tried the last I found the mount to be bent. Now I used a few long chisels to pry in place.
