Hitch

Reviewed By Dennis M S (HENDERSON, NV) Reviewed for a 2011 Hyundai Azera —3/25/2014 3:06 PM

Dodge has a different way of applying a hitch to the Dakota. The rear bumper encloses a frame mounted setup but does not include a receiver. This is a separate item which is added by bolting it to the frame work and through the bumper

Azera recommendations.

I recommend fully removing the heat shields instead of just letting them hang down. I also recommmend chasing the threads in the car frame nuts with a tap to clear out the paint and undercoating that gets in the threads. They were difficult to screw the bolts into.

Oldcanman

Reviewed By Jon G (MOUNT JOY, PA) Reviewed for a 2005 Toyota RAV4 —7/21/2016 5:23 PM

Priced below many other web sites and stores. Constructed well for a light weight compact receiver. We didn't need anything larger for our old stubby '2005 Toyota RAV4. I have a 1 1/4" to 2" adapter for things that require 2", like our flat aluminum carrier rack or a 2" bicycle rack. With the spare tire in back, we also use a 1 1/4" to 1 1/4" X 7" extension for a bike rack. Installation was super easy and took an old man 15 minutes total.
