CURT Receiver Hitches Reviews

Prius II, 40 MPH safety

Reviewed By Richard R (Middlesex, NC) Reviewed for a 2014 Toyota Prius —7/28/2016 10:00 PM

The Curt Class 1 receiver 1 1/4" hitch with 2"Euroball can save your car and perhaps your life. The design puts the ball level at optimum level to prevent torqueing frame bolt points. It can absorb an extraordinary amount of force/energy before compromising frame rails and even then reducing damage to vehicle survival repair costs. The Euroball performs like a shock absorber on steroids...imagine it being bent 90 degrees to form a "U" shape..be sure to use strong safety chains.

1.25" Hitch Adapter

Reviewed By Jon G (MOUNT JOY, PA) Reviewed for a 2005 Toyota RAV4 —7/27/2016 6:31 PM

I have an old stubby '2005 Toyota RAV4 for which I had just installed a minimal 1.25" hitch receiver. For the purpose of hauling bikes on a rack behind the RAV spare tire, I needed at least a 5" extension in the receiver to clear the tire cover. I ordered the Curt 1.25" to 1.25" adapter extension in the 7' size which now clears the tire cover by 2" to avoid any bolt gouging of the cover. The Curt product is strong, has smooth welds and a quality appearance.
