Jeep Wrangler - TJ 1998 - Receiver Hitch

Reviewed By Ryan P (BAYTOWN, TX) Reviewed for a 1998 Jeep Wrangler —9/2/2014 9:52 PM

I think this is a very reasonable priced receiver hitch, fairly easy to install, looks good on the jeep, I opted for the circular design. I don't like the top bolts as they leave a part sticking outside of the frame and looks a little bit cheesy, but it was easy to install for sure.

Easy installation but could be better

Reviewed By Mark C (BURBANK, CA) Reviewed for a 2014 Jeep Wrangler —8/20/2014 10:45 AM

These could not be easier to install--just unplug your current tail light and insert this unit between the tail light and the original connector. My only real gripe is that the wiring is not protected in any way. Since the wires will have to go through a body panel and out to the hitch, they will be subject to wear. I purchased some half-inch "split loom tubing" to protect the wiring along its route. Also, it you have the Smittybilt hitch, the 4-pin end will not fit in the slot provided.
