These could not be easier to install--just unplug your current tail light and insert this unit between the tail light and the original connector. My only real gripe is that the wiring is not protected in any way. Since the wires will have to go through a body panel and out to the hitch, they will be subject to wear. I purchased some half-inch "split loom tubing" to protect the wiring along its route. Also, it you have the Smittybilt hitch, the 4-pin end will not fit in the slot provided.

The hitch was a quick installation. It would have been quicker if I didn't have to chase the threads first. They'd gotten some stray paint in them which made starting a couple of the bolts harder than it should have been. Once they'd been cleaned up, installation was a breeze.
