3 issues to install Curt trailer hitch (MB GLK 250)

Reviewed By Philip B C (Kent, WA) Reviewed for a 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class —6/29/2017 4:39 PM

Few changes should be made to the installation fabrication of CURT trailer hitch for Mercedes GLK250. 1. No need to remove six muffler isolators with the exhaust hanger plier. Just remove two bolts on the bumper fascia for making room to squeeze the hitch into position over exhaust. 2. 1/4" hole should be drilled on the passenger side hitch arm's slot to allow the long slot alignment with bumper beam. 3. After drilling a hole, file the slot & repaint the bare metal to avoid rust.

Nice fit, great value!

This hitch was super-easy to install; I did it single-handedly in under an hour. Backed the truck up on the ramps, lifted the hitch up with a jack, and bolted it right in place - which was the hardest part, since mounting bolts must be torqued to 75 lb-bt while wrenching in a very tight area. I wish more of hitch frame would be hidden behind the bumper, like Curt does. It should also be packaged better - I had to touch up the finish scuffed during shipment.

A very straight-forward and uncomplicated hitch. Easy to install.
