CURT Receiver Hitches Reviews

costly to install

Reviewed By Tom H (Salem, OR) Reviewed for a 2013 Nissan Altima —3/30/2014 2:40 AM

The Curt receiver is well made, but is does not come with the ball mount and ball, as other makes do. The heat shield has to be removed and i question what the long term effect of removing the shield has. To install the holes in the frame rail have to be enlarged. The mufflers need to be removed and re-installed, and all of this add up to an hours time to install. Th time to install is over an hour by a mechanic with a lift and all the proper tools, so be prepared to pay probably $100.

Easy as pie.

Easy to install. Would have been easier with a second person. Also right tools would have made a whole lot easier. Perfect fit. Good thing is that if I upgrade to a newer Altima... I can use the same hitch.

Excellent cheap class 1 hitch

Reviewed By Roberto R (Irving, TX) Reviewed for a 2008 Nissan Altima —8/22/2012 7:10 AM

The hitch fitted perfectly on my nissan altima coupe 2008 but I had to take it to U-haul as they were the only ones willing to install it. If you are planning on installing it yourself please think about it. There's no drilling required for the bolts but you basically need to open a hole on the car's frame so that you can insert the bolts. I live in an apartment so it was practically impossible for me to do the installation.
