It took me about 90 minutes to install. I was being very careful and deliberate. Over an hour of that time was spent running the power line to the battery. I found a video which describes *exactly* how to install it--do a Google search for "Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Toyota Matrix".

My truck already has a 4-way flat, so this made the installation easier and cleaner. Splicing into wires is a necessary evil at times and this avoids that unpleasantness. The bracket needed a small bend to allow the door to open all the way so the plug-in will fit. This is the one with the LED lights that indicate which pins are working, but I wish I had purchased a separate tester instead. One LED light always stays on. Battery drain isn't a concern, but unnecessarily attracting attention is.
