CURT hitch for Suzuki Grand Vitara

Reviewed By Roy B (ELKMONT, AL) Reviewed for a 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara —5/5/2017 6:11 AM

My son and I installed our CURT hitch. At first it looked like it would not line up with the existing holes in the Suzuki GV frame but I inserted bolts in the aligned holes and the rest of the holes lined up as we began tightening the bolts. Easy. No alterations to the GV in any way (no bumper trimming, etc). I also bought the turn signal wiring (sorry, I can't off hand recall the part name) and it installed nicely too. The furnished instructions were not entirely accurate for a GV but sufficed.

quality hitch, but installation hardware problems

Reviewed By Richard C (Medford, MA) Reviewed for a 1998 Chevy C/K 1500 —9/20/2017 12:11 PM

Installation hardware comes with carriage bolts/steel plates to lock bolts inside the frame horn. The steel plates don't keep the bolt from spinning when tightening. Wrong plates aren't long enough or wide enough PIA to remove them or wedge something in there, I Mig tacked them. License plate bracket fits, had to cut the air dam but expected. Factory tow hooks have their own backing plate so you only have to deal with the rear carriage bolt. Lacks hook ups for safety chains
