Successful install done alone, but easier with a helper

Reviewed By Lowell J (Glen Burnie, MD) Reviewed for a 2016 Ford Escape —10/6/2015 1:37 AM

Installed my CURT hitch in about 2 1/2 hours in my drive way. About 20 minutes was finding my tools and includes jacking the rear up and using jack stands. Trimming of heat shield and prepping for the hitch install was easily done. Muffler hung lower on passenger side, and the instructions state to guide it in on the passenger side; this is where the helper is mostly needed in order to get it across and clear the muffler on the drivers side. In all just take your time.

Nice and Intimidating

Reviewed By Gary J (Pearland, TX) Reviewed for a 2009 Jeep Commander —10/5/2015 7:18 PM

This step serves a dual purpose for me. It looks and functions very well as a step, but I also bought it to help me on rear end accidents. I have come out and caught people staring at it, wanting to know where I bought it. Glad I used a lock on it. I love it.

Step Up

This was a very simple install and the hitch step looks and works great. Highly recomend a locking hitch pin as this would surely be stolen if not locked down on the vehicle
