CURT Receiver Hitches Reviews

Solid Design But No Easy Install

Reviewed By Scott L (Coppell, TX) Reviewed for a 2008 Toyota Avalon —7/7/2015 2:55 PM

Solid built unit but tight squeeze getting some bolts in. Installed myself, assuming the one-page instruction sheet meant a quick fun project. With a hydraulic car lift it would be easy. But if you only have a tire jack, it's a test in patience and contortion. Install time was 3+ hours on a Toyota Avalon. I had to remove right rear tire to access a 3rd exhaust hanger to properly drop exhaust. Used bungee cords to pull exhaust aside for better access. A real knuckle buster of a project.

Perfect

Reviewed By James P (Springfield, VA) Reviewed for a 2008 Toyota Avalon —6/19/2007 6:07 AM

The unit fit great, the bolts were a little tricky but a little bit of wire made it easy to pull them into place. 20-25 minutes of work and was able to pull my 7500 lb trailer without any issues!

CURT Ball Mount Reviews

Stout, solid ball mount

Reviewed By Alan D (Idaho Falls, ID) Reviewed for a 2007 Toyota Avalon —10/13/2008 12:02 PM

The Curt Class V ball mount (SKU=3068594, part # D-124) is a sturdy, solid mount with 1.25" shank hole, rated at 12,000 lbs GTW and 1,200 TW. To minimize leverage on the tow vehicle, it is not excessively long. I'll try to update this review after the dealer finally lets me have my trailer (it's not yet ready for delivery) and I can try towing with it.
