hitch installation

Just a note to add to the install if done by an individual. 1. wash under the car first 2. the little tabs over the bolt holes are hard to see and don't come off completely. Check before starting install

great hitch--easy installation

Reviewed By Randall B (Fanwood, NJ) Reviewed for a 2011 Toyota Avalon —10/15/2011 6:44 AM

I've installed more than 10 hitches over the years and this one is one of the easiest I'vs had to install. It arrived within 3 days after I ordered it and had the hardware package safely tucked into the receiver [I had a Valley hitch once delivered with the wrong hardware package and had to wait another 4 days for the correct one to arrive]. I like to give all hitches I install 2 coats of Rustoleum paint before I install it so it will remain rust free for years. It helps to use a hydraulic floor jack or have a partner help hold the hitch until you can get the first 2 bolts installed. Be sure to clean the threads on the nuts that are welded to the vehicle frame with a wire brush, WD 440 and or compressed air before you install the bolts.

08 Toyota Avalon Hidden Hitch Installation

Reviewed By Jim S (Jupiter, FL) Reviewed for a 2008 Toyota Avalon —5/28/2008 7:35 AM

The only problem was with part of the instructions. The instructions state to disconnect TWO muffler hangers and shows their locations. Problem is, there are THREE hangers to disconnect before the mufflers lower enough to create a workable space. The 3rd hanger is roughly 3 feet forward of the hanger on the passenger side of the car. This mistake created about a 30 minute delay in the job. All other instructions were fine and the rest of the installation went well. The hitch is well constructed and shipping was extremely fast.
