CURT T-Connectors Reviews

Instructions are vague and a bit frustrating

Reviewed By Norbert Z (NORTH TONAWANDA, NY) Reviewed for a 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser —5/6/2014 12:28 PM

This connector install is more complex than advertised. 3 hours. Despite on-line discussion, my suspicions a wire needed to be run from battery to the rear of the vehicle was correct. Instructions were vague. Green wire on passenger side is as a 3 pin connector and the instructions said to install the CURT T 2 pin connector on it. That was incorrect. Despite all the aggravation of not knowing the install difficulty, it went good enough to be pleased overall. The connector once installed properly does work flawlessly.

Don't know why I didn't go with this the first time.

Paid $150 three years ago to have a trailer light system installed by a trailer dealer. It started blowing fuses and troubleshooting showed it was the power wire dealer installed was shorting. Further study showed it wasn't even needed! This kit is set up to plug into the power wire that is ALREADY THERE! Took about one hour to install and that included removing my old wires and panels. Works great. Only improvements would be better photos (or DVD or YouTube file).

Easy as pie

I unshaped my tail light wires, snapped on the adapter. It took less than 5 minutes.
