So far, so good

Reviewed By Dave S (Grass Valley, CA) Reviewed for a 2006 Toyota Tacoma —12/24/2011 6:46 AM

Installed fairly easily once you figure out whether to use the spacers or not. I'm still in the "trust" stage in determining how much to rely on this versus looking over my shoulders. So far it's been useful more for smaller parking lots to avoid accidently bumping into another car when pulling out of a spot. I'm finding that the sensor goes off in my small garage and stays on once I'm past the walls and out. Once I stop, it stops. I don't understand why it stays on past the point of exit but that's the only fluke I've noticed so far. There's two ways to dull the beep volume and I'm using both as it's louder than it needs to be. Overall I like it's practicality and that it utilizes the hitch that I had no other use for.

works for me

Reviewed By David B (Tucson, AZ) Reviewed for a 2008 Porsche Cayman —10/3/2014 10:58 AM

Instructions a little unclear, but I called Curt and they quickly answered my question. This hitch was recommended to me by the Jeep dealer as a solution to allow me to tow 3,500lbs instead of the 2,000 lbs, that my 2012 Jeep Rubicon would normally be able to tow. I used the Curt W.D.S. to tow my race car at freeway speed and I could hardly tell I was towing anything.

Well built quality item

Reviewed By Michael W (SIOUX FALLS, SD) Reviewed for a 2015 GMC Sierra —7/13/2014 6:21 PM

Everything goes together pretty easily except for when it comes time to slide the flaps into the bracket. The fit is exceptionally tight and I finally used some lubricant and a dowel to spread the bracket. Once installed, it then has to come back to cut it to size once you put the intended trailer on the hitch to measure for the correct length. Overall, once you put it back together in final assembly, it is very nice. All components are heavy duty and the unit seems like it will be durable.
