We were very honored to have CURT’s VP of E-commerce and Retail, Lee Adelman, stop by the AutoAnything booth at the 2011 SEMA Show. While Lee was there, he met with Elly Brown to discuss the history of CURT, their dynamic 3-year relationship with authorized part dealer AutoAnything, and the future of the brand as 2012 approaches.
Lee gave us a brief look into the history of this innovative company. CURT started in 1993 in the hills of Wisconsin out of Curt Tamborino’s car trunk. Curt, the owner and founder, began selling hitch balls, and as his customer base asked for more and more items, he continued to add them to his inventory. As the company continued to grow, it was CURT’s goal to have the best looking product available on the market. And now, according to Lee, they have become the #1 trailer hitch manufacturer in the industry with plenty of merchandise and 10 distribution points within the United States and Canada. Next, Lee talked about the future for 2012 and how, in addition to some new products like brake controllers, CURT’s main focus was on pushing technology to the consumer. Their main focus? Creating installation videos for each and every custom hitch.
