Went to several message boards before convincing myself that this was really a DIY project. Glad I did because from the time I laid everything out to the time I had it installed took only 20 minutes. Could have saved another 5 but forgot to put the first 2 washers in place. Still a definite win/win deal as even including the price of buying a torque wrench, I still saved $300 over what the Acura dealership wanted for an installed hitch. The only real disappointment was that the hitch arrived without packaging; parts held on with plastic wrap. It also had chips out of the paint, but that was easy enough to touch up and not worth a complaint. The way I look at it, it's going to look like hell within a few weeks anyway.

This hitch mounts well but is way to low. You need to raise it at least three inchesSo the air dam hides the cross bar. All you need to do is cut out a square in the plastic air dam. If you check you will see there is a bolt on each side of the front so it won’t weaken it, but it will look much better and it won’t eat up your ground clearance. It needs about three inches or the with of the air dam taken out of the side brackets. Vincent

This harness fits perfectly as a plug-in to the brake controller found under the dashboard of my 2006 Econoline 350 XLT extended length van. I used it to change the originally 4 pin tow trailer assembly to a full 7 pin towing capability (adds brake control capability instead of just signal lights). I went to the dealer and they couldn't order just this part, they had to order a whole kit which cost much more! U Haul was able to wire my vehicle with installation of one of their hitches. Controller was well-priced (I compared with 3 other online retailers) and arrived within 1 week of ordering.
