Needed a basic trailer connecter for my 2006 Colorado. Looked at the universal connectors but didn't want the hassle. saw the Curt connector and decided to give it a try. Connector showed up as I was hooking up the Jet Skis for a weekend trip. 15 minutes later it was installed and ready to go. Directions are simply. Plug and play. The only work was finding a place to attach the ground wire. The only negative was the double side sticking tape that came on the module would not stay adhered so I found a better grade of adhesive tape. Great product if you don't mind spending a little more to avoid having to splice in a universal connector.

The unit was constructed very well. The installation sheet was a little bit confusing at first, however once you look at the actual vehicle it makes a lot of sense.I ran the main power wire through the frame onmy 2010 Ford Escape straight from the battery to the rear on the driver's side. I installed the wire junction box in the frame of my truck as the rear frame is exposed. i used some of my own heavy duty wire ties to strap it in. I recommend doing the same. Overall to put a new hitch on my truck and wire the harness took 2.5 hours and mostly because the hitch is a little more difficult. Overal, the wiring took 45 minutes.

I had trouble getting the lights to work. Called the Autoanything tech support. Tech said it sounded like a ground problem and that the pickup bed may be isolated from ground. I checked the frame to battery with a multitester which showed good ground connection. I had to drill the screw hole next size larger than suggested in the frame member because it is thicker than body sheet metal and sheet metal screw would not tap itself. Also, I used a hardened screw. Lights work fine now.

Valley Standard Tail Light Converters Reviews (1 of 10+)

substitued for the orginal toyota convertor that shorted out internally. It was pretty simple to change out but could have beeen a pain if I didn't have the orginal kit already installed. Would have had to run a wire to one side turn signal and sorted out the wires on the other with a test light.
