SPF 60 has nothing on the Dash Designs Original Car Sun Shade. Crafted from a highly reflective, pleated fabric, the sun shield protects your ride from the sun's harmful UV rays. Direct sun light can cause cracks, warps and fading of your dashboard—cover up with the Dash Designs Original Car Sun Shade and keep your ride up to 50 degrees cooler.
This car shade installs easily with high-temp 3M tape and windshield mounting brackets. And, when it's time to block the heat waves, simply pull the auto shade and latch into place. Two stainless steel, tension springs ensure a smooth motion across your windshield and an easy retraction.
When not in use, the car windshield shade retracts into a sturdy, low profile, high-temperature casing. What's more, your Dash Designs Original Car Sun Shade carries a 2-year warranty.

We live in Florida and our teenager is always driving and always getting into a HOT car. She had the folding type of shade but when carpooling friends, it took up too much room. This sun shade is hardly noticeable and stays put. Easy to install too.

Installation was easy enough, and it's not hard to draw the shade, but it ALWAYS wrinkles and crumples when trying to retract it. Maybe it's because the Prius windshield is so angled, or so tall, but whatever the reason, it does not work well. I think it would've been a better design if it was a simple roller, with a thin but sturdy sheet that pulls across the dash, more like the rear cargo cover.

I knew I was going to love it before I purchased it as my friend has one. However, I had her install it for me and she set it at the wrong angle. Now I have no idea how to rectify this. Am wondering if new brackets can be purchased separately, and if so, how would I remove the old brackets.

Really like how it stays in place with an easy pull to engage it - however disappointed that the material is very thin - I was used to the heavier material that really keeps car cool - this does a moderate job - rated it 4 stars mainly for the convenience of not having to remove the entire thing each time I use it.

I do not like the dash design ordered. It was indicated that it would fit my Honda CRV. I thought it opened in the middle like the one my friend purchased from another company. I chose the wrong style. Instead it opens at both ends. How can one shade fit so many other cars. It is too large and ackward.I hope to return it and see if they have the design that opens in the center and retracks to the side of the dash board.

I saw someone use the sun shade and thought it was the best idea I'd ever seen, since it stays in place and doesen't need to be stored, then used and removed and stored again. I gave it as a gift and hope to get one myself in future.

I like the retracting feature, I hope it doesn't break. Yes it does cool down my car a lot, but if you're window is slightly curved like mine it won't fit. I had to make some modifications to get it to fit all the way across the windshield. Also the plastic looks pretty cheap. Not finished on the ends and the handle doesn't have any style. I wish I hadn't have paid so much for it.
