The truck rack works fine with our 2014 silverado 1500 crew cab. Set up took awhile and my husband YouTube how to install. You have to take off the tail lights to tighten the bolts on. Although to carry a canoe on the rack we still need a crossbar over the cab because our 17 foot canoe touches the cab. We didn't have time to buy the cross bar system so we used foam canoe blocks.

Now I have an 8' spread on my rack since I have a 5.5ft bed that great! Mounting to main rack was easy, assembling the front bar was impossible, I threw away the studs and lock nut provided since it crossthreads and won't screw completely. I used some modified 80/20 hardware with button head hex screws, looks clean now without the stud sticking out
