Description

Set up camp wherever the feeling strikes you. The Sportz Truck Tent III turns your truck into a comfortable camper faster than you can roast a marshmallow. This is the easiest way to stay above the cold, damp ground and outfox those night prowling critters.

Frustrating searches for a clean, dry and level camp site are now a thing of the past. With the truck tent—just park, pitch and voilà—you’re living it up in a cozy home away from home. Camping out doesn’t get more convenient than this.

The rain fly’s built-in awning provides cool shade and a grand entrance to your luxury lodge. What’s more, the Truck Tent III boasts a level of protection not found in ground tents. Since campground kleptomaniacs would rather wrestle bears than steal occupied vehicles, rest easy that your truck is safe while you sleep.

With this much comfort, it’s easy to see why the Napier Sportz Truck Tent III is the #1 selling truck tent in the world. Blue/tan color scheme. 1-year warranty.

"I set up the tent in my driveway the first time and it was very easy to install. My Longbed Tacoma has a roll lock cover installed and the tent fit the bed perfectly without any modification. It also looks great on my blue truck! Went to the lake this weekend and was very comfortable, the best part is that I can simply lift the assembled tent out of the truck when I needed to trailer the boat, then drop it back in without missing a beat. Thanks"

"This is the second one of these that I have owned and I Love them. Of course my other was for a full size, long bed Silverado and this one is for a short box Tacoma, but it is plenty roomy for me. It seems to be a little long near the end of the truck as it hangs over a little but I got it adjusted good enough to not slide over. It could of been my adjustment of the straps though. I ordered the higher quality truck bed air mattress to go with it and it makes all the difference in the world. Now with my sleeping bag in a stuff sack, truck tent in carry bag, and air mattress with carry bag, jumping in the truck for a quick camp getaway is a breeze. Add a case of water and MRE's and you got a Bug Out Bag system for emergency's, if needed."

"Durable tent that is fairly easy to set up. The tent is a little bit short (about 2 inches) from lining up perfectly with the truckbed. The 5 1/2 ft ceiling is more than adequate for moving around. The additional ceiling pole inside the tent creates a consistent arc. Definitely worth buying."

"This tent was by far the coolest thing. Everybody at the camp that helped set it up was amazed at the simplicity of it and the look as well. They all said "That's something I need to look into!" My wife was worried about bugs and it not being comfortable. Seeing as how she has never been camping before, she said it was the best rest and relaxation she ever had. We also purchased a truckbedz mattress for it to top it off. A must for people who camp or hunt. A GREAT investment! Thanks Auto Anything."

"You pretty much get a good value for your dollar. My sole complaint was that the long cross poles are under a tremendous amount of strain when you go to slip them into their respective sleeves. I snapped one of them trying to get it into the cloth pocket that holds it. Luckily a nearby camper had some duct-tape handy so I just did a quick mend and all was well. I suspect that if you have two people you might be better able to slip them in (If you have one person holding up the center of the tent from inside while you're trying to get the poles attached). Or just be VERY gentle slipping them into their sleeves! It looks great set-up, lots of interior room, quick to set-up (45 minutes the first time reading instructions...I got it down to under 20 minutes the second time solo), good quality materials, Great product overall... And LOTS of curiosity from fellow campers to check it out!"

"Love the tent; the set-up instructions are the weak point in the product, as I over-strained a fiberglas pole and fractured it by not being aware of another set of pockets in which to stick the entryway support. However, though the breakage was MY fault, Napier is sending me a replacement...VERY impressive. Great product."

"there was a lot of condensation build up from the door to about a ft back on the top and sides on the inside, had to leave zipper open about six inches on door & side windows, still had some beads of water on inside. ( not good in the mountains where it is very cold at night) did hold up under about 12 hrs of rain & sleet, moisture from inside, even when dry outside. rod that holds arch above door had one section splinter after 3rd use, all in all it served its purpose in good fashion. needs better ventalation & stronger rod at rear. much better than on the ground."

"The overall fit was good. It does take 2 people to set this up, keep that in mind before you break out the beer. The rain-fly needs to be a little longer because it does not fully cover the sides, (about 4" are exposed along both sides). I was able to feel the morning dew along this section on the inside. Don't know how this would hold up in the rain. Overall, worth the money."

"Overall a great product. I put it up the first time in the dark and didn't have much problem. Probably can do it a lot quicker next time. It rained for four hours straight the next morning but only got a couple drops of water inside (around the door.) Because of the height once installed on my truck, getting the rain flap laid out over the top was a bit of a challenge and I never did get it positioned or rotated right so I could get it tied down properly to the truck. It still did it's job of keeping me dry but was obvious that it wasn't installed properly. I also highly recommend getting the custom sized air mattress that fits your truck. I did and found it very very comfortable. The only drawbacks I can think of with this set up are that when you're traveling, all your gear is exposed to the elements and when you get to camp, you really can't drive your truck because of the tent. Small issues though. I'd buy this item again."

The TRUTH about this tent

"PRO: Fits nicely into bed of truck. Fairly easy to assemble. After the second time, I could get it up in 10 minutes. Was able to put it up in a high wind condition. Fits in the bag after you take it down (so they considered the extra folds when you take it down). I can actually sit up on my knees and not touch the ceiling. CON: The fake fur that goes over the straps was a little difficult to get on. Plan on doing this at home and not at the campsite. I used a stiff wire and fished it through. Wish there was a window on the truck rear window side. The wire hole is just big enough to fit your fist through. It will not link through the rear window. I can see how the poles could break. The rear pole over the door has a great deal of stress. The door hinge is on the bottom which means you have to unzip the door completely to get out. My other tent I only had to zip half way. You can not see out the windows when the rain fly is on. Kinda pricey at $200.00, but it was worth it."

"I am very pleased with my puchase. The tent was relatively easy to put up and take down. It didn't fit quite as neatly (I have a Dodge Ram 1500 short bed)as in the photos but well enough that it didn't look dumb.I had originally seen the tent in Cabellas but Autoanything beat their price and was more specific about what model trucks the tents would fit. My fiance and I are avid cyclists and the tent allows us to make camp anywhere there is flat ground at a ride."

"The tent worked just like it said it would. I was a little leery of the strength of the poles after reading others’ reviews, but just being careful prevented any breaks. The tent came with some furry fabric sleeves that were not accounted for in the instructions. A call to Napier told me they were for the truck body straps to protect the paint. At the start of my first set-up, the tent moved around a lot as I inserted the poles because the truck body straps aren’t secured until a few steps into the set-up. After the first set-up, the truck body straps were now the correct length. On my second set-up, I hooked on these straps first, and set-up was even easier. I would recommend a trial set-up before you head out."

"I love the truck tent. When I used it the first time it was very quick and simple to set up. The height inside of the tent is great. You can move about freely and stand in the middle. When the wind blew, the tent did not budge and made me feel safe. I only wish that I had spent the extra money and got the air mattress to fit inside, it will be well worth it."

"The tent is great. I was amazed at how clean it stayed inside. My partner has bad knees and it was so much easier to crawl in and out of the tent and sleeping bag. The only downside is that one of the poles broke when we were putting it up for the first time. That was discouraging but we made it work."
