We assembled the tent the first time with relative ease by carefully following the instructions. There were a couple of small pieces missing which were sent out the next day in regular mail by Napier customer service. It was a bit disappointing that they sent the wrong parts but another email had another part sent immediately. It hasn't arrived yet but hopefully it will be the right one this time. Overall we are very satisfied with our purchase and customer service.

Besides getting lots of curious campers asking us about our tent, our family of 5 loves the spaciousness. We use the optional porch as our "kitchen."

Recently got a '13 Taco double cab with 6' bed and mid-rise camper shell. Had rear glass remove and installed accordion boot for access to camper. With the Sportz tent attached it makes for an excellent set up for me. Air mattress in truck bed works great. Only tested tent so far for fit and now just waiting for warmer weather to put it to use.

Very easy setup( just follow the instructions) I like the screen porch area to keep bugs out especially flies & bee's...as far I'm concerned I'm comfortable with it except it a little pricey but it will pay off in a few camping trip other than paying $150+ a night hotel. Gone camping! :)

Took my new tent with us to try out while using our pop-up in a primitive campground. Put-up and take-down were a little finicky, but nothing that couldn't be handled. Sleeping in the back of the SUV was great, especially the readily available electric light. I am ready for a solo adventure without the trailer backup.

Set up my model 84000 tent on my Van with the help of my 11 year old and 5 year old grandsons. Took a bit of time of time as it was the first time I set it up. Once up it worked out real well. My three grandsons (the third being 6) and I spent the night in it on our property. The tent seems to be made well and we liked the screened openings in the roof as we were watching the night sky and saw a few meteors pass within the earths atmosphere. I am satisfied with the tent.

Ease of attaching and unattaching from SUV

How easy or can we unattach the tent from the SUV. I'm looking for an alternative to a popup camper. This seams like it would work where we could sleep off the ground and have access to the SUV within the tent. However, I'd like to be able to pull way from the campsite now and then. How difficult would this be and then reattach after comming back.

    What size for Yukon?

I have a Yukon 2000 with barn door rear doors, not overhead rear doors, will the Sportz tent system work with this? Also, should I order 10 x 10 model with the larger Yukon model?

Hello. The Sportz Tents are showing that they would work with 2000 Yukon and yes I would order the 10x10 model for the larger model size and it allows you sleep two more people.

No, there is only one sleeve to attatch to the vehicle. Maybe you could back the other one up to the screen porch/front door, but you'd have no way to enter the tent, unless you thread your way through the vehicle into the tent.

    rear hatch door open?

Can anyone tell me if the overhead rear door needs to remain open while attatched to the tent? We are thinking it would be more secure if we are able to close the rear hatch overnight while we're sleeping.

Hi Pat, yes you can use the tent with the rear door closed. You can also remove the sleeve altogether so you can use your vehicle and leave the tent standing.

I'll post another answer with links to photos once we put the post up on our blog http://www.ridepros.com/.

All you have to do is turn the light intensity knob or dial down if you want to keep it open, turn it back up for vehicle use. GinniC
