Cable Tires Seem Great

Reviewed By Kathleen M (San Francisco, CA) Reviewed for a 2014 Honda Accord —11/20/2014 12:07 PM

Although we haven't had occasion to use these yet, they are compact and come with helpful tools and easy-to-follow directions. They are packed in nifty easy-to-store bags, and we feel fully prepared for the snow now. Thanks to AutoAnything, we got our order very quickly and in time for a trip through the Sierras where we would have needed the chains if there had been a storm. So we will definitely order from AutoAnything again. Their service was terrific.

High quality tire chains, but pricey

Reviewed By Jiafu H (ACTON, MA) Reviewed for a 2011 Audi Q7 —9/27/2014 6:50 AM

Gotta a long drive way on the hill, need two pairs of tire chains for my Q7 in order to use snow plow when winter comes. With these chains, I don't have to use snow tires that are more expensive at least for now. Haven't got a chance using it yet. However, my experience so far is the chains are of superb quality, fit my Q7 very well and easy to install and uninstall once you know how. Besides, this is indeed the XG-12 Pro.

Practice, practice, practice

Reviewed By Steven A (BRAINERD, MN) Reviewed for a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta —2/10/2014 2:14 PM

Try the installation before you leave home! Instructions included but mainly a series of confusing pictues that seem to include multiple models- worthless. Go to YouTube to see a installation but don't expect to do it as quick in practice. My biggest problem was untangling the chains. Once untangled, installation is not that hard. After a short distance the chains knocked against the wheel well and I had to stop and tighten them. No problem, but it seemed like 30-35 mph is about all the speed you'll want to do with them installed. During removal take care to not drive over the red latches as you drive out or they'll break or bend. Also, you'll need to stop with the cable in top dead center as you installed it, or it'll be hard to reach to unhook. Once on though, they'll do the job like nobody's business.
