McGard SplineDrive Wheel Installation Kits Reviews

Decent, but pricey

Reviewed By Brian H (MORRAL, OH) Reviewed for a 2012 Ford Fiesta —3/13/2016 2:31 PM

I purchased these for aftermarket wheels through autoanything after they had put a package together for me with the wrong ones. You get the appropriate amount of lug nuts for your mounts, with one locking lug per wheel. I purchased the black, although pricey, the sales rep worked with me to get 20% off and free shipping. Only 3 stars because after only ONE week in an Ohio winter with snow and salt they started to develop surface rust. Easily brushed off and a wax applied. Still happened though.

Rays Gram Lights looks great and handles perfectly with my FR-S. Light weight material and awesome design. It seems like it was made for my car. Thanks Autoanything for an amazing deal.

McGard SplineDrive Cone Seat Lug Nuts Reviews

Not too excited about them...

Reviewed By David D (SAINT MARYS, PA) Reviewed for a 2012 Chevy Silverado —9/21/2014 6:37 AM

First thing out of the box, they look OK, some slight blemishes in the black chrome finish. After installing with the proper McGard socket and running my new wheels, 2 days later rust developed around the spline areas from where the socket tool engaged the lugs. I would expect a $20 socket to have a better fit. Also, I am confused about the cone seat area...it is supposed to spin freely so your wheels don't get marked up during install, but after torquing my wheels once, none of the seats turn freely anymore. Not sure if this is normal at all, but obviously next time I take them off, the design feature of the free-spinning seat is no longer useful? Overall, not worth the $180+ shelled out for a set of lugs
