Use it in my trailer to pull in equipment. Pulls 6500lb tractor up ramps and in trailer. My only issue with it is the cable doesn't wrap onto spool evenly and always binds up.

The mounting brackets for the solenoid box did not fit, and the smaller wire terminals are a bit of a joke, but these things were simple enough for me to work around that it wasn't worth returning, but I would definitely have to think long and hard before decided to buy the same winch again.

I pulled my Warn M8000 after being on for 8 years. I used it heavily over the years and it served me well. Everything I read about the Smittybilt winch rated it just as tough as the Warn. I went with the 10K comp model with the synth line. It was easy to install and looks great. It runs very smooth and quiet. I'm very happy with this choice.

I spent some time reviewing comments on various winches and came to the conclusion that the Smittybilt was the best value. Installation was without incident, even though I had an issue of installing the winch around a Roadmaster towing system. The winch fits perfect and works great.

I'm very pleased with the capability of this winch. I've used it a few times all ready in pulling myself and others out of stuck snow-situations. (Jeep Wranglers) I have not heard it bog down yet, even after pulling up and over some steep inclines through deep snow. The synthetic line is a dream to use after using steel rope. I do have some concerns about the rope crushing the rope left on the drum, but it hasn't seemed to cause a problem yet. It took me 1.5 hrs to remove the old bumper and lights and install the winch on the plate and install the new bumper, winch and winch-plate. Went VERY smooth. Overall, I am VERY pleased with this product!
