I pulled my Warn M8000 after being on for 8 years. I used it heavily over the years and it served me well. Everything I read about the Smittybilt winch rated it just as tough as the Warn. I went with the 10K comp model with the synth line. It was easy to install and looks great. It runs very smooth and quiet. I'm very happy with this choice.

I spent some time reviewing comments on various winches and came to the conclusion that the Smittybilt was the best value. Installation was without incident, even though I had an issue of installing the winch around a Roadmaster towing system. The winch fits perfect and works great.

I'm very pleased with the capability of this winch. I've used it a few times all ready in pulling myself and others out of stuck snow-situations. (Jeep Wranglers) I have not heard it bog down yet, even after pulling up and over some steep inclines through deep snow. The synthetic line is a dream to use after using steel rope. I do have some concerns about the rope crushing the rope left on the drum, but it hasn't seemed to cause a problem yet. It took me 1.5 hrs to remove the old bumper and lights and install the winch on the plate and install the new bumper, winch and winch-plate. Went VERY smooth. Overall, I am VERY pleased with this product!
