Covercraft Car Sun Shade Reviews

Covercraft sun shade

Really have no big complaints about this product; I've bought a number of these things over the years... and all from AutoAnything. Fact of the matter... however... is this is not a very durable product even though it is effective. It usually starts out as looking rigid and tough... but sooner or later it will start to weaken... flex... and ultimately show material disintegration (generates dust like particles). In California... effective life is probably 3 years or so.

Intro-Tech Automotive Windshield Sun Shade for BMW 1M

Reviewed By Andrew O (Pacific Palisades, CA) Reviewed for a 2000 BMW 5-Series —2/1/2012 1:38 AM

Since car is on the small side, I wanted a sun shade that was more compact than the folding rigid type that I have ample experience with. This Intro-Tech product looks promising... but I'll reserve final judgement until it's been used all summer. I think it has a plastic core; it will be interesting to see if the summer sun softens the core sufficiently to make the shade lose its stiffness.

Solid But Bulky

Reviewed By Ian C (SHERMAN OAKS, CA) Reviewed for a 2011 BMW 5-Series —3/14/2013 12:11 AM

This sunshade definitely serves its purpose of blocking the sun and protecting the dashboard and interior of my car. I can immediately feel the heat reflecting off of it when I install it. My only complaint is its bulkiness. It folds into a long slender piece that requires a bag for storage. Storage in the trunk is sometimes necessary. I'm used to the thin twist and fold shade that can be stored in your door. Since I have a nicer car, I will accept the bulkiness for the protection.
