Thule CB-12 Tire Chains Reviews

Practice, practice, practice

Reviewed By Steven A (BRAINERD, MN) Reviewed for a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta —2/10/2014 2:14 PM

Try the installation before you leave home! Instructions included but mainly a series of confusing pictues that seem to include multiple models- worthless. Go to YouTube to see a installation but don't expect to do it as quick in practice. My biggest problem was untangling the chains. Once untangled, installation is not that hard. After a short distance the chains knocked against the wheel well and I had to stop and tighten them. No problem, but it seemed like 30-35 mph is about all the speed you'll want to do with them installed. During removal take care to not drive over the red latches as you drive out or they'll break or bend. Also, you'll need to stop with the cable in top dead center as you installed it, or it'll be hard to reach to unhook. Once on though, they'll do the job like nobody's business.

Covercraft Auto Snow Shield Reviews

Winter Cover

Reviewed By Steven B (Westborough, MA) Reviewed for a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta —11/18/2013 7:22 PM

Installed the snow shield cover on my Jetta, very easy to install. Still not into the snow season yet, worked great in strong wind and a thunderstorm. I am confident that it will work even better with snow, ready for the New England winter.

Works good, not great

Reviewed By Kyle D (North Royalton, OH) Reviewed for a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis —2/19/2015 7:58 PM

To install I had to buy a set of vacuum hose adapters since my vehicle had 1/4" tubing ($4 for the parts). I used two huge worm screw hose clamps to mount the bracket to my power brake booster, it works out well. Installation was easy once I figured out where to place the unit. In cold weather below 20F my wiper fluid will freeze to the windshield until the defroster warms the windshield, and I use high quality -20F fluid, wasn't expecting that.
