AEM Intake - Jeep Patriot

Product is awesome looking and sounding and Autoanything beat any price I could find on the web. The installation was a bit more difficult than expected due to the angle required to unclamp/reclamp the pipe on the manifold. Other than that I love it. Haven't felt extreme differences in torque, but that is to be expected from a 4 banger. With headers and exhaust there should be about a 10HP increase total. Just the look and sound are worth the money in my opinion.

Not quite what I was expecting

To start, the picture is misleading, in that the ehat shield did NOT come with my AEM brute force. Then, during the install, I found that reaching the throtle body required some contortion on my part. Be warned, on the Jeep Patriot, there is a relay attached to the throtle body and the wires are attached to the factory air intake with one of those annoying plasting pins. After finally getting the wires disconnected and the pipe clamped to the TB, the rest of the installation went smoothly. However, the first tank of gas run through after installation resulted in a 4 mpg decrease, when I expected an increase. More testing, in different driving conditions is required on my side.

A Good Investment

Living in an area with a lot of hills, noticed an instant improvement over the factory air box, which had so many bends and the intake duct looked like the size of a ATM card slot. It is louder than the OEM air box, but the overall performance makes it well worth the money. Gained another 1-2 mpg which is always good.

Still Evaluating!!!

The overall performance is good but taking out the stock intake was rather frustrating. Love the look and the style
