I installed the air filter very easily, but haven't noticed a change in performance, including power or gas mileage. The car that its installed on has almost 150,000 miles, so that might be why the air filter isn't helping. I just don't know. At least I won't have to change it for a long time though, and that is one less maintenance issue that I'll have for a long while.

On a 1997 Dodge Intrepid the 3.3L V6 engine has more power now with K&N. Also think I gained slightly on MPG but I tended to use the extra power at the same time on a 800 mile trip. Climbing long grades in the mountains used to be a problem but is much easier now and passing power available at freeway speeds is quicker for sure. It just makes the car more responsive and I recommend the K&N filter.

I haven't bought an air filter for six years for my wife's dailey driver. Once a year it gets re-charged, and we're one our way. On the Road / Trip mileage on the 1990 Buick Riviera averages 28 MPG. Time/Money/Performance--it WORKS for me !
