I've been using K & N air filters in all of my vehicles for the past 30 years or so and wouldn't consider doing otherwise. This includes my Triumph motorcycle, Porsche 911, past 4 personal-use pickup trucks, BMW Z3 (most recent K&N air filter purchase) and daily drivers like our Kia Spectra 5. Always good quality, always enhanced performance, and no disposable air filters. 5 stars, across the board.

I just replaced air filters in both of my vehicles, with K&N's. 88 RX7 conv. and 03 BMW 5 series wagon. Happy with performance increase due to better air flow. I was told by my mechanic to use the oil sparingly as too much can damage mass air flow sensor. That's my concern for my BMW.

Swapped out the filter. 1'st noticed the size difference and how the stock filter will restrict air flow. You can hear the air flow difference.

installation , easy, when you consider long term cost at $10.00 to $15.00 for paper and replace at 10,000 miles the K&N outshines cost. I probably get 1/2 miles more per gallon city/highway. Performance with stock 3.0 motor( BMW 530 )seems a little better at low end.

the filter fit with no problem right out from the box. i was initially concerened when after removing the old paper filter i found it to be atleast 2x larger than the K&N. a little more research revealed the smaller footprint with a oiled surface did a better job at filtration and allowed more air into the motor

My only comment is that the filter did not fit as good in the top of the housing as the OEM filter it replaced. That said a little bit of tweaking made it fit ok and was possible to close the lid correctly. I have been driving with the filter for about one month+, and the car runs great. It might or might not have a few more horses, can't tell.
