Every car I have ever owned has a K&N air filter in it. They are the best all around air filter and the best reusable air filter. To be honest the filter won't give you huge power gains. It will however "slightly" make the car accelerate faster, then a traditional paper filter which restricts air flow. MPG differences are slight in my RX-8 but my car wasn't really designed with Prius efficiency in mind. Older cars have been found to yield even higher positive results. Buy one, they are great!

I just put one of these in my RX-8. It was the final step in a simple modification, i removed the VFAD and two screens from the filter box. After replacing my old dirty Air Filter with this K&N filter i have noticed a difference in the sound of my car (sexy) as well as an almost imperceptible increase in power. Worth the somewhat inflated price.

I have a K & N air filter on my SV-1000 and my RX-8, it is an improvement in the stock air intake without the extra intake noise (or price) of a full "Cold Air Intake" system. From a "seat of the pants" WAG I would guess a 5% improvement in HP.
