The K&N filter was an easy drop-in replacement but didn't affect the fuel economy. MPG went from 40.1 to 40.2 over 700 miles of mixed driving. The old filter was dirty and needed to be replaced which might be the real reason for the slight increase in economy. Money savings will be in using this filter for another 100,000 miles instead of buying more paper filters.
